Volunteer Lethbridge enriches the community by facilitating individuals and organizations in the support and advancement of volunteerism. Working closely with member organizations and the community, Volunteer Lethbridge increases participation and awareness of the many forms of volunteerism available in southern Alberta.

The Challenge

Volunteer Lethbridge is a nonprofit consisting of multiple organization units that were each using their own legacy CRM systems. The existing systems did not provide a way for donor outreach teams to track their opportunities through the business pipeline, there was little in the way of automation for business process efficiency, and reporting at an executive level was a challenge as there were no enterprise-wide standards established. However, the biggest problem that plagued the organization was the low employee adoption for current systems.

The Solution

Through a five-phase project, each division of Volunteer Lethbridge was migrated from their existing legacy system onto an enterprise-wide, shared instance of Salesforce.com. Sales processes were configured to meet the needs of each divisional team, while still allowing for standardized reporting. Salesforce automation tools were leveraged to promote business efficiencies, and allow all business units of Volunteer Lethbridge to have better visibility into their Donor marketing activities and better executive-level care of their partners and associates.

The Results

Implementing Salesforce.com as their Donor Management System (DMS) allowed Volunteer Lethbridge to increase employee productivity and donor outreach through increased user adoption from their new platform. Volunteer Lethbridge is now poised to scale donor efforts as they have the tools necessary to hit the ground running.
